Brian Okoth holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies (Environmental Resource Conservation) from Kenyatta University. He is also a registered and licensed EIA Associate Expert.

He has a cumulative 12 years of experience in Voluntary Carbon Markets, Project Management, Public Finance Management, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Stakeholder Management, Capacity Needs Assessments, Pre-feasibility and Feasibility Studies, Grant Management, and Research and Policy Analysis.

He has worked and consulted for organizations such as Wildlife Works, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW), the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS), the Institute of Economic Affairs – Kenya (IEA) on areas such as policy review, inclusive energy, identification and selection of grant awardees, supporting in review and strengthening community proposals for funding, selection of top 100 young African conservation leaders, project evaluation, technical support on 2006 IPCC Guidelines for GHG Inventories, and feasibility studies.

He currently works as the Climate Policy and Communications Manager at ImpactDev Africa Ltd. His interests include carbon markets, subnational climate finance, climate governance, research and policy analysis.
