Dr. Godwin Opinde is a Fellow at ARIN. He is also an Environmental Planning and Management specialist with research interest in Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, Air quality management, environmental governance, waste management, Renewable energy, Urban & Rural development, transport planning and informal economy. He holds a PhD in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University, Post Graduate Certificate in GIS & Remote sensing from University of Twente, ITC, Netherlands, Masters in Environmental Planning & Management from Kenyatta University and a Bachelors of Education Science from Egerton University.
Godwin lecturers in the Department of Environmental Planning and Management in Kenyatta University (KU). He is a member of Next Generation Researchers Africa, where he serves in the resource mobilization committee and has been involved in various research activities. He spearheads ambient air quality monitoring project at KU with partners from Columbia University, USA. Godwin currently serves as Chair of Environmental Compliance Institute (ECI) where he has been involved in research and capacity building activities on environmental governance in partnership with UN Environment.
